TP-Link Archer BE4800

TP-Link lists the Archer BE4800 as a BE4800 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router without a 6 GHz radio, Ethernet up to 2.5Gbps, and with EasyMesh. It is most relevant for faster 5 ghz service with two 2.5gbe connections. The main limitation to check is this: It omits the 6 GHz band associated with higher-end Wi-Fi 7 routers.

Who it suits

Faster 5 GHz service with two 2.5GbE connections. Check the limitation above against the network you plan to build.

What the specifications mean

Wi-Fi 7 and the band layout

TP-Link lists this as a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router using 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with no 6 GHz radio. Wi-Fi 7 identifies the networking generation; it does not mean that every router includes all three frequency bands.

What the Ethernet ceiling means

The fastest listed Ethernet connection is 2.5GbE. This supports a wired link above one gigabit, but buyers should still count the number and role of multi-gig ports because a fast WAN port and a fast LAN port solve different problems.

Coverage and mesh

EasyMesh is the mesh ecosystem listed for this model. Mesh can extend coverage by adding nodes, but node placement and the wired or wireless backhaul between those nodes determine how much capacity reaches distant rooms.

Multi-Link Operation

Multi-Link Operation is listed for this router. MLO allows compatible Wi-Fi 7 equipment to use more than one link, but the available bands, router firmware, and client implementation determine which links can actually be combined.

Check these before buying

These questions turn the specification sheet into a network decision.

  1. Confirm that BE4800 is the exact class and Archer BE4800 is the exact regional model shown at checkout.
  2. Count the WAN and LAN ports separately; the 2.5GbE maximum does not describe every Ethernet port.
  3. Compare the router's placement with the rooms that currently have weak service before treating higher advertised throughput as a coverage fix.
  4. Exclude this model if access to the 6 GHz band is a reason for replacing the current router.
  5. Read what TP-Link HomeShield (basic free, Pro paid) gates: decide whether the free tier covers the household before paying.
  6. Verify the exact EasyMesh models that can join this router and whether wired backhaul is available.
