GL.iNet Slate 7 (GL-BE3600)
GL.iNet lists the Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) as a BE3600 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router without a 6 GHz radio, Ethernet up to 2.5Gbps, and with no mesh system listed. It is most relevant for travel, hotel ethernet, vpns, and portable multi-gig routing. The main limitation to check is this: It is a travel router with no 6 GHz radio, not a whole-home coverage solution.
Who it suits
Travel, hotel Ethernet, VPNs, and portable multi-gig routing. Check the limitation above against the network you plan to build.

What the specifications mean
Wi-Fi 7 and the band layout
GL.iNet lists this as a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router using 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with no 6 GHz radio. Wi-Fi 7 identifies the networking generation; it does not mean that every router includes all three frequency bands.
What the Ethernet ceiling means
The fastest listed Ethernet connection is 2.5GbE. This supports a wired link above one gigabit, but buyers should still count the number and role of multi-gig ports because a fast WAN port and a fast LAN port solve different problems.
Coverage and mesh
The manufacturer record used here does not list a mesh system for this model. Do not assume that a router can join another brand's mesh merely because both products use Wi-Fi 7.
Multi-Link Operation
Multi-Link Operation is listed for this router. MLO allows compatible Wi-Fi 7 equipment to use more than one link, but the available bands, router firmware, and client implementation determine which links can actually be combined.
Check these before buying
These questions turn the specification sheet into a network decision.
- Confirm that BE3600 is the exact class and Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) is the exact regional model shown at checkout.
- Count the WAN and LAN ports separately; the 2.5GbE maximum does not describe every Ethernet port.
- Compare the router's placement with the rooms that currently have weak service before treating higher advertised throughput as a coverage fix.
- Exclude this model if access to the 6 GHz band is a reason for replacing the current router.
- Read what No subscription listed gates: decide whether the free tier covers the household before paying.
- Plan a separate access point or another documented coverage solution if one router cannot serve the whole home.
What we have not tested
- Throughput at different distances and through different wall materials
- Latency under mixed household load
- Firmware stability, setup flow, and subscription prompts
- Coverage relative to another router in the same physical test environment
