TP-Link Archer BE800 vs ASUS RT-BE96U
Choose the Archer BE800 for a switch-and-storage LAN: SFP+ combo plus four 2.5GbE ports serve many wired devices. Choose the RT-BE96U for dual simultaneous 10GbE (WAN and LAN at once) with subscription-free AiProtection. Both are wasted on sub-2.5 Gbps plans.
Two kinds of 10GbE
The BE800 spreads capacity wide: 10G WAN/LAN, an SFP+ combo port for fiber or DAC uplinks, and four 2.5GbE LAN ports. The RT-BE96U concentrates it: two 10GbE ports that can carry WAN and a 10G LAN device simultaneously, with the rest at gigabit.
Draw the traffic path first. Multi-gig internet plus one 10G server favors the ASUS; a 2.5G-heavy device collection favors the TP-Link.
Controls without a toll
ASUS includes AiProtection Pro and its granular controls without a subscription; TP-Link reserves Pro-tier HomeShield features for payment. Power users who tune QoS, VPN, and parental rules keep more on the RT-BE96U for free.
