NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series vs ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro
Choose the ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro for quad-band capacity and 10GbE per node in a large, device-dense home. Choose the Orbi 770 for tri-band mesh where 2.5GbE everywhere is enough, at a lower multipack price. Neither overcomes bad node placement.

Manufacturer specification comparison of NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series and ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro
The BQ16 Pro is quad-band BE30000-class with two 10GbE ports per unit; the Orbi 770 is tri-band BE11000-class with 2.5GbE throughout (router plus two 2.5G LAN per satellite). In a home without 10G wiring or plans, the Orbi's ceiling is already above demand.
Where the BQ16 Pro earns its premium: wired 10G backhaul between nodes, many simultaneous 6 GHz clients, and AiMesh expansion with existing ASUS routers.
Kit math
Both sell as 2- and 3-packs plus add-on satellites. Start with the smallest kit that erases measured dead zones — an extra satellite adds contention as well as coverage. Add NETGEAR Armor renewal costs to the Orbi side; ASUS ships its protection without subscription.
What we have not tested

Roaming behavior between nodes under load
